Solid Rock Custom Homes is pleased to announce the addition of our newest team member, Nate Chappell. We welcome Nate to our project management team.
Nate has accepted the role of Project Manager Assistant for Solid Rock Custom Homes while he continues his education in construction and learning the details of the family business. We have taken the liberty of asking Nate a few questions in order for you to become better acquainted with him.
Why did you choose construction as your career path?
As a young boy, my dad would take me with him to check on Solid Rock projects, so I feel I have grown up around construction. I enjoyed seeing each phase – from demolition of an old structure to the creation of a new living space, and looked forward to visiting each job site to see the progress. It has always been exciting for me to watch an empty, unfinished space…such as a basement, be converted into bedrooms, bathrooms, recreation rooms, etc. as it is framed out. As each wall goes up you know you are creating a new lifestyle for an individual or family. It is also fun to observe the homeowner‘s excitement as their project progresses through the insulation, electrical, HVAC and drywall phases, since this is when they are able to get a good idea of what their new living space will look and feel like. Watching their anticipation as finishing touches – paint, tile, cabinets, countertops, lighting and plumbing fixtures go in, and presenting them with a finished basement is very rewarding.
Also, I have always enjoyed working with my hands to create something from my ingenuity and physical hard work. Construction allows me to be a part of a team in which each team player shares that similar passion; together we are able to create awesome living spaces.
Most importantly, I wanted to be a part of our family business. My dad has been a great role model to me and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I hope to be able to carry on the family business when my parents retire and continue the legacy they have worked so hard to create.
What made you decide to work with Solid Rock Custom Homes?
It gave me the opportunity to be a productive part of our family business and work along-side my parents, as well as with other fellow team members/contractors who have the reputation of being some of the most genuine and talented individuals in their trades. Solid Rock also has the reputation of using sound and ethical construction practices that I wanted to be associated with.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy dirt biking, camping, fishing, hunting and going to the shooting range, spending time with family and friends, as well as helping those in need – such as moving them into a new home or completing handyman work for them.
We hope you have enjoyed getting to know Nate a little bit better. As he embraces his new role and responsibilities, Nate – along with our Solid Rock team, look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and create an amazing new living space for you!
