Wildernest Dream Home Update

The excitement is growing around here as we start to see another client’s home take shape and begin to look like the dreams we helped them put on paper. A few months back we shared with you the groundbreaking ceremony of a home we are building in the Wildernest Community, in Woodland Park, Colorado. It’s now time for an update on the Wildernest dream home!

This Rustic Colorado Mountain home brings together traditional mountain elements along with a touch of Craftsman style. It’s always an adventure to see what styles and individual tastes our client want expressed in their home! Fully custom homes are never cookie-cutter models looking the same as every third house down the street.

Wildernest Dream Home

This spacious home is approximately 4,710 square feet, with 2,470 on the main level and 2,240 on the lower level. It has a 3 car garage, and a covered front porch and deck. This home will be built with several “Aging In Place” features, particularly in the master bathroom. The shower will feature a curb-less entry, a shower rain head, a regular shower head, and a hand held shower head. The hand held shower head which will be next to the built-in bench, is on an adjustable slide bar for height adjustments as needed; it can be used as a hands free, shower head by someone who is sitting on the bench or removed from the cradle to be used as a hand held.

The floor plan includes 4 bedrooms, but the homeowners intend to turn one bedroom into a home gym complete with vinyl flooring to accommodate gym mats and for easy cleaning. The master bedroom suite will be located on the main level to allow stairless living in the future. The master suite also includes a sitting room complete with a 3 sided fireplace. The laundry room and adjoining walk in closet are also next to the master suite to keep all necessities on one level.

Another personal feature of the home will be the couple’s wine storage area off of the wet bar which will feature a custom door casing of beautiful wood. The shelves for the wet bar area are being made from a pine tree from the property that had to be cut down in order to build the home. The same tree will also be providing wood for the fireplace mantle on the main level. We’re excited to see these personalized features in their finished state!

Awesome work Solid Rock. I love the neatness on the project site. And the framing details look great. The owners picked a great builder for their home.
